E.M. Tharp, INC. is family owned and operated and continues to support organizations throughout the Central Valley.

Scholarship Program

In 2007 E.M. Tharp partnered with World Ag Expo to create the “We Believe in Growing” Scholarship to allow two students from Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Kern County an opportunity to receive a $10,000 scholarship. Since 2007 E.M. Tharp has proudly provided 30 high school seniors with the E.M. Tharp/World Ag Expo scholarship and will continue to award two recipients the scholarship this February at World Ag Expo. Since 2007 E.M. Tharp has provided over 30 high school seniors the “We Believe in Growing” scholarship.

School Supply Drive

In 2021 E.M. Tharp, INC. began an all-company School Supply Drive donating school supplies and backpacks to schools in Fresno, Tulare, and Kern County. The employees from each store come together to donate items to help a school in their community. Each “drive” goes back to a school in the store’s local community.

Toys for Tots Drive

Year after year you could find a Toys for Tots donation box at E.M. Tharp. In 2022 our other stores joined the Toys for Tots campaign and became a drop off location for Fresno and Bakersfield providing an opportunity for our staff and customers to donate toys to help a child’s Christmas become a little more special.

County Fairs

The 5C’s in building youth are competence, confidence, connection, character and caring and the 6th C is contribution. These C’s are all taught to students that choose to show livestock at the county fairs. Each student will learn to be competent, confident in the showroom, create connections, build character, care for their animal and learn the importance of contributing back to your community. Tharp, INC. supports the local and county fairs from Fresno, Kings, Tulare, Porterville, and Kern County each year by providing financial support and being present at the Buyers Table.

E.M. Tharp, INC. supports our local communities from school activities, sporting events, FFA, 4-H, and a multitude of other fundraisers throughout the Central Valley. From sponsorships to donations E.M. Tharp, INC. continues to invest in local schools, non-profit organizations, youth groups, and organizations over the eight decades E.M. Tharp has been in business.
