With the side-dump design SmithCo Mfg. has developed a trailer that allows you to haul all of your construction or demolition materials, such as concrete breakout, boulders, rip rap, gravel, sand, dirt, and tree stumps to name a few. SmithCo offers 2 standard tub designs, either a round bottom or flat.

The SmithCo side-dump offers advantages in load placement by being able to stock pile, spread in windrows, dumped over bridges or median dividers, windrow along road shoulders, and dumping on uneven surfaces. With a dump cycle time of 15-30 seconds, you can get in and out fast, SAVING TIME AND MONEY. The side-dump trailer eliminates driving over your payload (as with a bottom dump). This eliminates those pesky problems of getting stuck, materials getting in your brake drums, and carrying payload back onto the highway.

Because the tub on the side-dump trailer is a completely welded structure without the need for a tailgate or bottom gate to dispense the payload, materials such as hazardous wastes, compost, sludge, food or animal processing by-products, or any payload with liquid content are easily and safely transported. Some of these payloads require trailers of larger capacity, so SmithCo has developed High Volume units (capacity of standard unit is 40 cu. yd. water-full).
